What is the best site inspection and safety audit app for construction crews?
The best site inspection and safety audit app is one your crews will fill out on a phone at the work face, offline if needed, and that turns every finding into a tracked corrective action. ECSafety runs site inspections and site audits as Smart Forms: build or import the checklist, schedule it daily or weekly, and Aura AI reviews each submission and flags what needs attention.
How inspections and audits work in ECSafety
Site inspections and site audits are Safety Forms in ECSafety. That means every inspection gets the same tools as a JHA or permit: photos, geotags, signatures, conditional questions, and an Aura review on submission.
- Import your existing checklist from a PDF or Excel sheet, start from an OSHA-aligned template, or describe it to Aura
- Schedule inspections daily or weekly by site or crew
- Capture photos, video, signatures, and GPS location on every answer
- Works offline and syncs when the phone is back in coverage
- Fill forms by voice in English, Spanish, or French
From finding to fix
A failed item becomes a corrective action with an owner, a due date, and a status. Aura flags overdue and at-risk actions in Aura Insights, and managers see completion rates and repeat findings by site on the dashboard.
What it costs
Inspections and audits are included in the $25 per user per month Core Seat. Subcontractor crews can complete assigned forms on a $5 Guest Seat.
Common questions
- Can I use my existing inspection checklist?
- Yes. Upload it as a PDF or Excel file and Aura converts it into a digital Smart Form with the same questions, which you can then edit.
- Do inspections work without signal?
- Yes. Forms can be filled offline and are queued until the device reconnects.
- Is there a separate audit module?
- No. Site audits and site inspections are both Safety Forms, so they share scheduling, reporting, and corrective actions with the rest of your program.
